Determine whether its fuel or spark.
What is fuel pressure reading at the rail. What is battery voltage, etc. |

It sounds to me like you have a dead battery. |

If you want us to help, you'll have to give us some accurate information about your problem, and your observations. "no ha ha" does not qualify!

Please post year ... welcome to the forum. Please explain exactly how it's behaving ... is the starter engaging? does it click instead?

Make sure battery terminals are tight.

it sounds like an electrical problem. Things I would check are:
1) Battery voltage at the battery 2) Measure the Ohms from the positive cable terminal at the battery to the other end at the starter solenoid (checking for resistance in the cable). You will disconnect the cable to do this. 3) Remove the starter and have it tested In my experience, starting problems are usually in the starter, but when dealing with cars of this age, cable corrosion/degradation is also a common issue Hope this helps. |

yes it clicks then finally the starter engages after several attempts

thank you very much. I will try and see if this works...

I had the same symptoms in my 95 coupe when I first bought it. Ended up that I had a dead winding in my starter. Replaced the starter, haven't had the problem since.
|
Sounds like it could be starter solenoid to me. I have had similar problems and loosened the nut holding the contact for the positive cable on the solenoid and pushed the contact in and rotated it 180 degrees and reassembled then it was like new. Good luck.
