Best protectant for a convertible top?
 

Will not effect color

I used 303 Aerospace Protectant on my black soft top and it worked great. Ordered from an internet vendor. Got this tip from this forum, not sure how it would work on white or tan, you could try on underside piece and see. My guess is no problem with changing colors, they say to check www.303products.com.

When I had my MGB with the vinyl top I just used Armor-all but I was young and didn't know any better.
When I replaced my top a few years ago I went with Al Knocks cloth top and it looks like a modern convertible top. I don't have to do anything to it.

Not sure about any additives OR COATINGS here. I'm in using only the neutral ph detergent camp for my C7, until I learn about what Ragg Top cleaner is all about.

I've been using 303 on my fabric soft top since June '15.
The cleaner works very well.
After the 'Fabric Guard' dries water runs right off.

Thanks guys, I've had my new cloth top on for a couple of years and was wondering the same thing. T

For whatever it is worth, my 94 Mustang GT convertible owned since new has the OEM top that looks and is still perfect. Know what the secret to longevity is? KEEP THE TOP OUT OF UV LIGHT as much as possible (Time 2 for tires on any classic car and they will last 10-12 years easy) and keep it covered when not in use, even in a garage. I have never once treated this top with any treatments.

78-82 there is correct, but here in FLORIDA, the SUNSHINE STATE, my white soft top I bought the car with only lasted maybe 6-8 years, then another white top that did not fit for shit, not made correctly....and so it lasted another ten or so years, I installed a tan/brown top last year,

never had sun damage, but did on the interior...driver seat and console pad....rug fades like hell, can't win....

but the BEST solution for the top is to drop it, and store it in a garage if top is up......;-) :rofl:
