Clutch engagement feel
Hey. I recently bought a 2009 Z06. Love the car and have plans for it but a complaint I have is how the clutch feels/engages. What I mean is,,,, from the floor , the pressure is firm and smooth going up until I get to the end where the clutch starts to grab. At that point it feels like it grabs quick and the spring pressure pushes the pedal up fast.
Is this normal? Is there a fix for this?? Thx |
Sounds like my clutch. For what it’s worth, every Z06 I test drove had the same feel, that last inch grabbed.

Mine grabs around the mid point of the return but I've driven Z06s that have higher grab points.

How many miles on the clutch?
Perform the "Ranger Method" to bleed the clutch reservoir with fresh Dot 4 brake fluid. See if that helps smooth engagement a bit. |

I removed the clutch pedal spring on my 2006 Z06. Much better feel! Use a screwdriver to remove, only takes 30 seconds. Try it. Can reinstall in 1 minute if you don't like it. Apparently, you can swap in the lighter C5 spring but you probably won't want too-

My Z06 has this spring removed and I agree the feel is much more natural. |
Thanks for the info.
