1965 Rear Power Vent Screen
I am currently redoing the rear power vent on my car and when ordering new mounting grommets I found this part listed. I cannot seem to find an image for it's location. There was no screen anywhere when I took the system apart.

It shown in the A.I.M. as item number 9. It's held in place by the two rear screws that retain the cover. It keeps items from being sucked into the blower.

Thanks snake. This makes perfect sense. I thought it fit in the B pillar somehow.

There wasn't one in mine when I bought it 42 years ago, they must not have survived long! Mine still have original carpeting and the blower worked fine.

Anyone have an idea where one might find the push/pull control cable assembly?
|
Yeah, mine is frozen solid.
|
Pull the entire cable assembly, hang it from a light pole or something else about 12' in the air, repeatedly spray PB blaster into the cable housing over several days, preferably during hot weather. Repeat until the lube drips out from the end. Take the assembly down and pull on the knob until you get some movement. Hang again and repeat until the cable frees up. Worked for me.
