1954 Steering column wire protection
 

I just pulled the horn bearing off my column and, no surprise, bare wires exposed on the horn lead. I am thinking of slipping all the column wires into a thin plastic sleeve, or even slipping a sleeve over the steering column, to create a slip between the wires and the column. Anyone done anything like this? I don't want to tape them as a group, as I think it may create more interference, but loose inside a sleeve seems to be better in my mind. Thoughts?
