1984 vette upgrades???

Im 23, i got my 84 c4 when i was 14 as a gift from my grandfather who passed a few years ago, and I was told for 9 years i cant do anything with it. Recently ive gain new info be it limited in quantity.
Im going in blind here all i know is change the 84 fuel pump for a 85 and well my 84 crapped out after sitting for a year so i bought a 85 which i now think it already had one being the plug is the same well similar atleast cause i havent had time to install it any info suggested would be appriciated like
Heads
Cam
Rockers
Anything else
All on the stock brain
Or if u can suggest a good conversion kit or something ill look it to it aswell
Thank you
Have a good day

Decide what you want to do about the intake system, mod the crossfire or something aftermarket. Crossfire limits your abilities, but I'm not an expert on the 84's intake and what people are doing with it these days. I know of the Renegade system for one, but not others.

Engine has to be able to breathe in, then decide cam/heads/1.6rr.

Ok so ur saying get the Renegade intake first and then worry about the rest.
Also i have a 85 corvette fuel pump to put on it, but i cant really find much info on how to adjust the FPR besides that its located on the rear throttle body(I assume thats the driver side being its the futher back one if memory serves)
And that its something with threads thats been welded on place but thats it.
Also does the crossover tube have a specific name cause i cant seem to find a replacement with the searches i been putting in.

So the renegade is the only game around if you want to keep the stock system and just have it bolt up with... not a lot of modifications. Or you go to another efi system like TBI fron a later truck pr something.

If you have the skills, port the stock intake. It costs nothing but time and gaskets and will get you 80%+ what the renegade will. The extra 1000 or so usable rpms makes the car so much more fun. And then I would go from there and see what i want in it.

Yea imma go aheadand keep it with its cfi system
Id change it but i dont wanna stray to far from how it was bought
Simce my grand father passed away a few years ago id like fo keep it in its current condition just a little more fun om my side is all

renegarde or port the manifoil , more fuel ( 13 -14 psi ) , 10 deg timing (or more ) , kn filter , 1,6 roller tip , long tube headers , cat back , not happy ...... then heads ,cam , bigger injektors, new ecm , paralell plumbing ++++++

corvettenorway 03-15-2019 12:38 PM

and yes i do have a crossfire :D

Newlife84 03-15-2019 01:53 PM

Ok sounds great but if i dont want a new ecm
Unless its absolutely necessary

corvettenorway 03-15-2019 02:24 PM

you dont need a new ecm.... if you start porting or svapping manifoil +++++

Please forgive me for not knowing alot about this stuff i can rebuild stock stuff not a problem but changing things thats where im clueless and dont really understand a ton of all the stuff im needing to do or well wanting to do
I know i need to install the 85 fuel pump i bought
Then get a fuel pressure gauge between the tb but im not 100% sure on what im looking for under the driverside tb i keep seeomg thimgs that say ill take it apart and there will be a threded rod or what not that i can break the weld and make it alot easier to adjust after the fact

Newlife84 03-15-2019 03:23 PM

Also whats the difference in the plug between the 84 fuel pump and the 85
Cause im trying to figure out if the one tjat was in it is already a 85 or if the one i bought was actually a 84
