Wrapping spoiler
 

Was quoted $150 to wrap my Z51 style spoiler in gloss black. A two piece wrap with the seam on the top back curve. $200 to take the spoiler off and do a one piece wrap. I would be nervous about them taking things apart just for that.
Would you go 1 piece or 2?
They also offered a gloss black with a silver flake...and a gloss black with a red flake. ( silver stingray )
But, it would be the only thing on the car with that flake and everything above the window line ( a pillars, window tint ) is gloss black. So I’ll probably stick with the straight black.

Are you sure the $200 includes labor to take the spoiler off? $50 seems cheap to remove and reinstall the spoiler.

If 50 bucks is all, let them pull it, and do it right. And yes, I would stay with the straight black also.

Is bumper removal required for spoiler to come off? If so I’d go with the two piece...

Personally I would take the spoiler off myself and then drop it off to them to wrap.

I just did a spoiler remove and replace (Carbon Flash with a few flaws to New Carbon Fiber (Stage 3).
It is a Pain in the A***. Remove/Peal Back 80% of rear bumper, tail lights, tail light surrounds, just to get to the bolts
to take it off...…$ 50. no way unless they do it all day every day.

I think I’m going to opt for the 2 piece, keeping the car intact. I’m sure it will look fine.

Another thing they mentioned, because I mentioned I was considering red calipers...they said the could wrap the calipers in red. I ask about how the heat and such would effect that. They said it would wear, but that they have done it before and it’s lasted several years.
What do you guys think?

I have never heard of putting a wrap on the calipers. I would either paint them with a good caliper paint or have them powdercoated.

Agreed Vetteman. Had no idea until they mentioned it. Only reason I’m considering it, is that I’m not positive I’ll like red calipers on mine, so this would be a way to try it out for a while. Easy off if I don’t like.

If they will remove the spoiler for $50 I would take them up on it. I took the rear end off mine just for fun, and it took me three hours to get it back on! They only fit one way, but a lot of tedious steps getting it snapped back in place.

YOU can wrap it yourself...and just leave it in place! It will be steady and very easy to bare down on to smooth out the vinyl.j I plan to do mine this way as soon as it gets warmer here in Michigan. It can be designed to leave a bit of body color on the top if you don't trust yourself wrapping it over. Sky's the limit on creativity for this one! :thumbs:
