If not incapable, then autos are for the uncoordinated, clueless, boring, lazy, betas. A man who drives a manual is a connoisseur of the road. A woman who drives a manual is a BOSS.
because YOU prefer a manual transmission.... hahahahahahahahahahahah.... Guess I'm late to the party because I had not read the "testicular" comment from another poster before I posted mine.... in that case: double hahahahahhahahahahah |

I live in the DFW so I know a thing or two about traffic. Maybe you ought to look at my sig profile page. I can't seem to enable it for everyone to view but we bought a new 2015 Z51 2LT Vert M7. It's hers...

ALL sports cars are two things, and always have been; A) convertible, and, B) manual stick shift transmissions.

Glad that you like your wife, but:
A true man doesn't rely on his transmission for sexual validity, nor does he need to put down anyone for their choices (whatever their reasons). BTW, I have always driven manuals, and I probably have more miles on a manual Corvette than 90% of the folks here (of either sex), and it doesn't mean shit. |
I learned to drive on a manual vehicle. My C6 (on the way out) is an A6 and was ordered that way as my wife doesn't drive manual and I was planning to do a lot of rush hour driving.
I have my C7 on order and it is coming as an M7 - I didn't even research here prior to ordering, just went with my gut. This might be the last Corvette available as a manual and I enjoy shifting while getting a "better" feel of the car. I am sure there will be some days where I will miss the convenience/comfort of an auto. I have been watching videos (subsequently to ordering) of pros test driving auto C7s and they complain that there is a lag in the shifting while using the paddles. I did not know that it was like the C6 in this regard so I am glad (based on my priorities) that I went with the M7. PS - wifey only drove the C6 once and that too in a parking lot  |

I'm sure this has been beaten to death but here goes. We are looking at a 2019 vert purchase. Our last 2 vettes were manual transmissions. For those that have gone to autos, do you have any regrets. Did you go back to a stick? Getting older and thinking ahead.:leaving:

Well, well. Gotta say, 3 speeds,4 speeds,5 speeds all the way up as high as you can count speeds didn't have a factor when my wife and I produced a set of twin boys way back in 1970.
Hmmmmm ,As a matter of fact I was banging the gears on my 4 speed Chevelle :D Rich "Oh, how do I describe it? Well, you know how a blender has twelve speeds? Well, when he got up to Purée I thought I would die, But when he put it on Liquify, I wanted his baby!" |
I went from an auto tranny to the M7 when I bought the C7. I don't regret it but for sure I made the decision when I tried Rev Match. It's a blast to drive and I'm still loving it.
But I'm pretty sure the next one will be automatic. Hands down the auto tranny cars are faster. Also, manual shift cars are more difficult to sell (the younger the buyer, the less likely they want manual). I think I'll be using paddle shift next time around. |

They'll be in demand for they'll be harder to find. Supply and demand principle. Especially the convertibles. So, you're kind of misled there. ..If and when the C8 ever gets released, it's unclear whether it will be available in manual transmission and convertible. If not? The C7 convertible with M7 will be even more in demand on the used market. |
The auto is faster but in my opinion the manual is funner and fast enough! Pickup truck or non-sports/performance car auto is the way to go, sports car I’m choosing a manual!

I love driving sticks, have owned, raced and they have been my daily drivers most all my life. So I can certainly understand some having a strong preference for manuals. What I can't understand is why some of you turn into such fanatics over the subject when ever discussed.
To answer the OP's question: Even though most of my Corvettes over the years have been manuals, I'm thoroughly enjoying my A8 C7 Grandsport and am glad I went with it. |
