Before I pull the trigger- 2015 Z51 3LT
 

I think I finally found the Z51 I want at a great price. Before I send the deal my offer- I'd like to hear from you- It's a 2015 C7 Z51 with 3LT auto transmission, magnetic ride control; 22,000 miles. According to CARFAX, 1 owner, everything clean and clear as a whistle.
I have not seen it in person yet, but am about to send the dealer a solid offer contingent upon my inspection.

My first ever Corvette and like many others- the "childhood dream car" so please I ask you- is there anything I should know or look out for when inspecting and test driving? Anything good or bad about the 2015's ? I was really hoping for this same car in a manual with front cameras, but that is proving to be an elusive find, especially when considering the price of this one.

If I can offer one piece of advice -- You say you want a manual with front cameras? Ask yourself HOW BADLY you want a manual with front cameras...then count to 10 and ask yourself again.

In my experience "settling" will leave you with regrets. If the choice between manual and automatic is not super-critical to you, that is one thing. BUT, if you read some of the "manual vs. auto" threads in here, you'll be struck by the number of posts from guys saying they really regretted not holding out once they were in an automatic for a few weeks. I can't speak to the 8-speed experience, but you should also read through the sticky re folks having problems with them. Apparently, it is not THAT common and there appear to be fixes, but certainly something to get knowledgable about.

Beyond that, I am pretty new to C7's so just sit back and wait the comments from the "experts" to come rolling in. You will appreciate the response I am sure.

I would be curious what service it has done at the dealer...prime time for Tourqe Conv replacement. That said had the one on my last C7 done ...had it back in 2 days but since have heard dealer nightmares from others. My 16’ was a Z51....nice package a lot of bang for the buck . Lastly ...black cars look sexy...but are rolling “ mirrors” any imperfections including “orange peel” will stick out like a sore thumb ...believe 15’s were pre paint shop redux .....best of luck you will never forget this car once you own one ... I am on my 3rd C7 !!

Yikes, you want a manual but are settling for an auto...you know there are thousands of these for sale nationwide, right?

Don’t do it, after trim selection (Z06) my only other must have was transmission M7.

I hunted and hunted for a manual when purchasing my GS, finally settled for everything else I wanted but manual. Now so glad I got the A8. Manual is the only way to go with the C2s-C3s, but for C7, it's the A8 IMO.

OP, beautiful C7 :thumbs: All I advise is to check it out real close.

You are correct.

There are an awful lot of A8s out there with 80K and more on them. To make the blanket statement that at 22K "time for a Torque Converter replacement."
One size does NOT fit all.

Great find..the 2015 is solid and you can get an extended warranty just in case.

1. Check tire wear
2. Check oil level and coolant level ..check oil after 20 minute test drive (Z51 option)
3. check the dash for any excessive wear or deterioration

I believe you have 100 k and 5 years power train on this one because it’s a 15 so if anything left drive iit like you mean it .. once again an extended warranty is not a bad idea.

Get what you want and not the first one available.

Good advice. You should really listen to your gut and get what you want. If that is a manual car, then keep searching for it. BTW, have you driven both a manual and auto equipped car? If not, do yourself a favor and test drive at least one of each so you can decide which would be best for you.

You guys aren't wrong about settling, but manual transmissions seem kind of rare. It looks like I'm going to have give SOMETHING up, color, trans, front cameras or come up with a lot more money... I've been online for a solid month, and have yet to come across my "perfect" vette. There are many that are very close, but all will require sacrificing something, most often the M7. I did find an M7 2016 but it's in yellow, which I actually don't hate, but I live in a small town where everyone knows me. I'd get the cops called everytime I chirped the tires.

I agree as the general consensus is the only about 3%>5% of A8s have issues, however seems there's this myth that most all do.

Just make sure you will not regret getting the M7, nothing wrong with an Auto but 2 different driving experiences.

I'm not sure just how much you want a M7. It's a deal breaker, if, you seriously feel the need to have a manual. However, you can still have a ball using the 'paddle shifter' on the A8s. If you will be doing any city driving, parades or and other kind of 'stop and go' driving, you'll appreciate the A8. Think long and hared about your purchase, regrets are no fun.

If you want front cameras better search MY 2016 and up.

Remember paddle shifting IS NOT the same thing as a manual.If you want a manual just wait for it.
