Just bought a garage and there is a house attached!

We just closed on a garage/house in SE Cape Coral for a winter get away home.
The garage is 18' x 56' and 17' ceilings! Oh and there is a house, that is nice also, and a separate two car garage .
We are shipping my wife's 2002 Vette down there for now until we decide what we are doing.

Sounds like a RV garage. Is the home in a RV garage homes community? Doors at both ends? Badass!

Sweet!

It is not in a community and the PO used it for his construction business, I assume the reason for the heavy shelving.

I'm going to tell you for a fact, it won't be big enough! If a person had a warehouse, it would never be big enough.
We had our house built with a 6 car garage---------------more than enough garage. WRONG! Then about 4yrs ago, I had a 5 car garage added. IT'S ALREADY FULL!!!!!!!!
How big does it have to be to be big enough???????????

Pallet racks in the car barn are the bees knees. Nice buy.

I always have the same problem - getting a house when I'm trying to buy a garage - when my wife gets involved in the garage buying process!

Congrats. Looks great.

Weren't you moving down from Staten Island after having sold a long term hardware store business, IIRC?

gilbybarr 03-24-2019 06:34 PM

Time to start dreaming and planning the garage project!

I saw a sign that said “garage sale” so I stopped and asked “what do you want for that there garage?” 😉

We might do that in a few years but only have one grandchild and he is only 8 1/2 years old. We are going to do the 'snow bird' thing and see if we like enough to move down there permanently.
I purchased this house with the possibility of moving down there for good so I don't have to worry about a garage later on.
This is my garage here:

Down-sizing with an upside. Congrats!

That's awesome! Congrats! I think we all are in the same boat on wanting a place with a nice garage and not really worrying about much else!

My 3 wants were a huge garage, privacy and the ability to shoot in my backyard!! We now have 7 autos and 4 motorcycles indoors and I can shoot any caliber gun I want off my back porch!! Life is good!!
