Speedometers
 

I just received a replacement for my fluttering speedometer. Is there an easy way to spin the odometer to the correct 59432? I don't want to dis-assemble it without better knowledge.

Randy, you might be able to do it with a reversible drill, but I suspect it would take quite a while.

If you're planning a trip toward the coast, I'd be happy to set it for you. I've had to disassemble and reassemble these a few times in the past. It's not particularly complicated, but you do need to be careful and patient.

Yes, there is a process to reset the odometer to whatever number you want. Google is your friend.

I took the odometer apart and changed the numbers. Wasn't hard but had to be patient and careful. Worried more about loosing a piece as much as anything.

59432 at 1000 rpm drill should take you... lets see .. that is 1 mile a minute = 59432 minutes divide by 60 minutes per hour = 990 hours divided by 24 hours a day = 41+ days = how many burned out drills?

yup.. need to find a way to get to the dials and spin them to what you want.

After sliding the press in pin out, the little flat plastic numbers aligner/retainer is what you want to worry about. Very fragile and no replacements.
