No Front plate being considered - Not April Fools joke

Heard it this morning - the Ford gov't is considering scraping the front plate - news referenced " as many of the u.s.states " have. This guy is awesome, first the driveclean scam, now this. Crossing the fingers :)

If this is true i'll vote for this dude every time. The thing is the material cost per plate would be 1/2 so that's a major saving per plate when he changes the logo.

Where did you hear about " No Front Plate" on Cars in Ontario.....?

G-ForceJunkie 04-02-2019 01:36 PM

Awesome! I just came here to post this too. If you guys support this, please let your local MPP know! I think they are gauging public support before making up their mind.

Wanna bet the savings isn't passed down to us mere mortals?

I'll still gladly take it.

I read an article in the Star on Sat. or Sun.about it. Basically a government source said a front plate is no longer needed.

Anything popular with the people to keep himself in office. That's what usually happens when their support starts to dwindle.

Glad to see it go, but I know it's just smoke to distract voters.

Bingo! The guy is royally screwing up our education system, but yet he thinks having no front license plates will make up for that?

corrado 04-04-2019 12:27 PM

Here we go.

If Doug Ford personally ended World Hunger and Cured Cancer, some of you would still hate him.

They can do more than one thing at a time you know. Who says because they are hopefully getting rid of the Front plate they are not also working on Education, Autism file, etc? The party has more than one person, there's a minister for each file. Go figure.

We are in H U G E Debt as a Province. A BILLION $ Per month on INTEREST ALONE. Can you not understand that??!?!? Cuts NEED to be made.
If you are in debt, would you go out and buy a Rolls Royce on borrowed money??!!? Or would you tighten down and pay off your debt?

I for one will enjoy having no front Plate.

F F S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Politics is not new to anyone - plenty of smoke

Yes, my wife and I are 3 years away from retirement, but that doesn't mean she doesn't care about education, even after she retires she will still be involved in the education system in some way or another. The changes Doug Ford is making to education are ridiculous. I don't care how in debt this province is, some things you just don't fuck around with. The teachers are not sitting down and taking this lightly though, there is a huge protest at Queens Park this weekend (my wife will be there). Every teacher I know truly cares about their students and is horrified at what will happen to the education system if Doug Ford gets his way, and they know way better than he does how these changes will affect the future of education. The changes he is making in regards to autism is also causing a lot of backlash. (that's another area close to my wife's heart, she is a special ed specialist and taught a contained special needs class for 3 years) Doug Ford has already proven what a liar he is, he promised nobody would lose their job with these changes, but many school boards have already announced pretty big cuts to their staff.

I get it believe me and agree - point here as Corrado said, regardless of who is in power, we'll never win at it all, get some, lose some issues - it's politics. Just can't please them all. Isn't he trying to privatize TTC too...……...gee wonder why?? $$$$$$
Florida - I know, I read your posts and wish you good times there - I like Florida weather for sure. Cheers and be happy - no one is a bigger liar than Trump.

I am definitely not a fan of Trump and I worry he might somehow do something to screw things up for Canadian snowbirds. IMO we're not winning anywhere in politics right now, I am also not a fan of Trudeau. We need a new political party that actually cares about people.

Maybe step 1 should be recognizing that people are different and cannot all be pleased. The left / right divide is at the core of human psychology. We're wired differently.

As far as Ford goes, you can bet your ass that a large portion of his new support was precisely because of what people feared the left was doing in education. Believe it or not, some of us think that parenting is still the role of parents, and formal "educators" need to be kept on a far tighter leash. This is in addition to massive budgetary concerns. Every once in a while the spending has to stop. We have a MILLION public servants in this province.
