WOT shifting question
Hello Everyone! This is my first thread so hopefully its in the right spot! Anyway I recently purchased a 15 Z06 M7 and been enjoying it a lot. However I have read a few places they come factory with NLS and launch control. I am familiar with doing it from the WOT box in my 03 cobra. Tried it in the vette the other night and was not sure if it worked correctly. Shifted from 2nd to 3rd no grinding or anything but just felt different then I am used to. Just wanna make sure I am not missing something. Like turning it on or something stupid. It was track mode above 6k rpm.

First, welcome. You will find on here that it’s hard to get everyone to agree. Now, here’s my OPINION. Make sure you keep the throttle pinned to the floor while doing the NLS. Any less & it will come out of that performance mode. It can be tuff changing GATES when moving from 2 to 3 & not screwing it up shifting that quickly. Only other thing I SUGGEST is being in Performance Mode,Sport 1 or Sport 2 to lessen TC or SC from intruding too much. Keep in mind that under lower temps such as below 70-80 tires have problems hooking up & even in warm/hot temps 1-2 shifts can still put you sideways, especially if alignment is not dialed in. Try the NLS only in wide open spaces till you are SURE you got it figured out. Last OPINION, never completely turn off all NANNIES to help keep you & others you share the road with. Good luck! Appreciate the response! As far as driving I'm pretty comfortable with it. Actually hooks better then most of my cars before and shifting I haven't missed one yet in it. Mainly just making sure there's nothing i have to turn on or do to make the NLS engage other then just keeping it pinned and shifting quick ha

NLS is always active...hard part is executing with the go pedal firmly on the floor.

Perfect! Iv become used to shifting like that! Once you get past the mental part its easy

In order to hit the shift points correctly try using the HUD in the mode that only puts up a linear rpm display.
The shift lights comeon up above the tach display. The shift points are slaved to the gear you are in i.e. you need more rpm lead in the lower gears since the rpm slew rate is faster. If you practice a little you can get the NLS completed right before you hit the rev limier. |

these cars don’t run best shifting much over 5800 to 6k rpm. Nls is probably best performed at 5500 to 5800 rpm

Why do you say they run best shifting at 5800 to 6000 rpm? I run mine to 6400 all the time. 2nd, 3rd and 4th although I don't slam the shifter into the next gear. I push in the clutch, relax the throttle a shade and do a quick shift into the next gear, let the clutch out while I am putting the throttle back to the floor. I think avoiding hard drag racing style shifts prolongs drive train life. When at the track I do those shifts about 160 times a day.
