I backed my C7 into a concrete flower pot

I can do this repair myself. Plan on pulling the rear valance panel off to straighten the dent. The grey bumper will sand down. It’s very possible I will need some filler. What is recommended for a C7 rear bumper?

Both parts are plastic... there's nothing to straighten other than put some heat into anything that's got bend and hope the plastic memory will get it back. As for repair product, again, it's just plastic like any other car. Are you a painter? If not, I would touch them up and move on. Looks like your car is shark grey which can be difficult to match without blending.

touch it up for now and leave it alone

yeah. i would just touch it up and live with it for now. just part of daily driving.

The LAST THING you want to do...due to you are not in the profession and have the correct stuff (related to materials) is to sand down the bumper and expose the raw un-primed urethane.

Touching this up will be a bit of a challenge due to the color..... but I also agree...touch it up and forget about it due to I can only assume it is on the bottom of the bumper due to your photo was taken too close up so I cannot tell actually where it is located.

It could be air brushed in...but by the photo I cannot tell if the white reside on the gray painted area of the bumper is just paint or if it is actually gouged out.

The shark grey bumper looks gouged. technically it was a bad scrape.

:iagree: But I have also seen damage that looks just like this be thick paint residue left behind and it could be polished off.

About week or so ago I had a C6 stop by that grazed a metal pole in a parking lot that was painted yellow and his car is yellow and when he buffed if off with my buffer ( while being tutored ion how to use it)....there was literally no major damage but it looked hideous when he stopped by and one would think it needed to be painted.

Photos can be deceiving.

Touch up and go. Get rid of the flower pot if it's in an area you visit often, or it will get you again. It will me!

I scraped the left front bumper once on my C7 and I bit the bullet and paid a body shop to fix it. It cost me around $1,100 but it was relatively new and I bugged me too much to “live” with the damage. I am a LOT more careful now when approaching bumps and curbs. If you can afford it, get it fixed. You’ll feel better.
