C7 z06

I just put a set of 2018 Z06 wheels on my 2011 Grand Sport. They look very nice. Question.....will the tire pressure sensors match up with my 2011 Grand Sport? Can it be programed to show the correct air pressure? Thanks....

Corvette_Ed 04-09-2019 04:09 PM

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 99% sure the C7 sensors will not work with the C6 receiver. You'll have to have the sensors replaced in each wheel.

Can’t you tell if it sync? Meaning inside does it read any PSI? Or is it all zero PSI

doubleD 04-09-2019 04:38 PM

I'm not getting the correct reading yet. I'm getting 37 in 3 wheels and 36 in the other. Manually checked with my gage I've got 31 in all 4 wheels.

doubleD 04-09-2019 04:39 PM

I was told it would work but so far it hasn't.

Maybe a stupid question as I don't know but your old ones from your GS don't fit the new wheels?

doubleD 04-09-2019 04:49 PM

I'm sure they would but these wheels came with the sensors installed an my sensors in my Grand Sport were original and one was starting to give me trouble. Thought maybe I could get by using these new ones.

Would like to see a picture of your car with those wheels

jrose7004 04-10-2019 09:28 AM

You should have changed your old ones over to the new wheels because they won't work.

doubleD 04-10-2019 03:56 PM

jrose I was starting to have problems with the old ones. These new wheels have been road force balanced and I was told by my service tech at my dealer that they would work.

Look up the part number for the C6 and C7 receivers and see if they are the same. If not, you have the answer to your question. I wouldn't believe that service tech, and I'd find a different dealer to go to if that's the kind of service they provide.

Verify with another gauge

GS982 04-10-2019 04:29 PM

5 psi variance between the TMPS and a handheld gauge may not be out of the realm of possibility. I would raise or drop 1 tire by 5 psi or so and see if it registers in the car.

doubleD 04-10-2019 06:26 PM

I'll try it thanks

doubleD 04-10-2019 10:14 PM

I've done some research this afternoon..... The sensors in the 2011 Grand Sport was 315 mhz. The C7 Z06 has a 433 MHz sensor. So they will not work. I'm going to have to buy new C6 sensors to make this work. Thanks to everyone who tried to help.

jimijam 04-11-2019 12:31 AM

sell those C7 sensors over on the C7 for sale forum for $20 more than what you spend on new C6 sensors. they are used to overpaying for everything. ;)

ProfessorDeath 04-11-2019 01:14 AM

So... $360 in new sensors and you’re in business. What’s the hold up?

As I said, you need to find a different dealer. The one you went to obviously has no clue about Corvettes.

SPSandman 04-11-2019 02:37 PM

I believe we need pictures of the wheels on the car to verify.

doubleD 04-11-2019 03:37 PM

SPSandman if I knew how to send a picture I would be glad too. I'll see what I can do..... I've been on this forum for over 15 years and have not sent a picture.
