My car in miniature

I'm in the process of repainting my 95 Polo green convertible. Several years ago my friend gave me a few Maisto corvettes, one was a 96 collectors edition convertible. So, I decided I wanted a little version of my car. Attachment 48301828
I disassembled the model, didn't take too long
Attachment 48301826
The hood had several bubbles on it, there were a few others on the body
Attachment 48301827
It's a ZR1 from 1996!!!! :skep:
Attachment 48301831
I dyed the interior parts of my full sized car to go with the new seat leathers. So I used that dye to color the interior of the miniature car to match.
Attachment 48301833
I primed the body after sanding.
Attachment 48301832
After spraying white for the center stripe.
Attachment 48301830
Attachment 48301829
After painting and unmasking. I used the actual colors that I'm painting the full sized car with.

These are the colors in sunlight. It was fun and turned out pretty good.
Now, to finish the big car!!

That came out great. Now you have to do a side by side pic once toy finish the big one.

I was lucky to find a Franklin Mint model of my 35th. I set it on the dash when I go to a show. But what you did is great. Wish I had your talent with paint.

Cool idea and fantastic paint - the striping came out perfect! Also glad to see I'm not the only one with a 'vette in the garage and jets in the workshop (and props, and ships, and tanks....)

I've got to make a new miniature license plate. Alabama changed our plates this year. I still have the old one on the model.

Yea. My dad was career Air Force, so , I grew up loving aircraft. The Thunderbirds were and are my fave demonstration team. I was lucky enough to have met or known several previous Thunderbird pilots and crew through my dad.

Cool!! I hadn't even thought of that. As soon as my car is back to road worthiness I'm going to get a personalized tag, maybe I'll make a small one for the little car!
