C2 exhaust exit on c1
Good morning members . I have a 61' and am wanting to move my exhaust exit out of the rear of body like the C2 exhaust does with the ports through the body . My question to you all is " Has anyone done this and what year exhaust tubes will fit the contour of my body ? Also I am running 2" pipe and am curious if this will fit ?

I seem to remember this same question being asked here once before . . . and someone did post a photo of a car so modified. I suppose the short answer is that anything can be done given enough time and money, but the real estate beneath your C1 (I have a '62) and the routing of the exhaust pipes through, under or over the frame to get where you want to go may be a little problematic.

I thought all but 62 had the tail pipes through the bumpers?
EDIT Sorry. I see in Corvette Central's listing both 61 & 62 existed behind the rear wheels. I guess it had to do with the new rear section of the body, I had thought it had to do with the 1962 327 engine. |
problem on a c1 is the frame and the rear crossmember - its in the way
You would have to tuck it in real close the that crossmember or notch and plate it |
it can be done but as previously stated it will need a bit of work
