Heater Core

Does anyone have a good video showing how to replace the heater core on a 1992 ? Also, I need showing how to remove the dash pad. Thanks in advance.

The only video I've seen for the new style dash was some guy that tried to take short cuts and ended up hack sawing a duct in two,
The best instructions are in the Factory Service Manual. Lots of illustrations. The problem is the FDM has you jumping from section to section.

When I did mine I wrote down the steps with references to the sections were the pics are. I've posted it a few times in pdf.

Sorry to be a complete newbie but I have never registered with these types of forums before, relying on the excellent YouTube content. Could you link me to you content please. Many thanks Michael

Guessing your asking for links to a video, because what you found using google was crap.
You really need to understand what this takes. The only video I know of is this guy that tried to take short cuts and ended up sawing his duct work apart. And that was a car without the passenger side air bag.

You need to get a factory service manual and follow the procedure. To change the heater core your going to remove the passengers air bag, the dash (which means part of the center console). You also have to move the fuse box and relay bracket out of the way (wiring can stay connected).

When I did mine it took 2 full days, but I wasn't in a rush. But probably a long full day if you keep pushing thru. Probably why no one has made a good video. Trying to video that much work would add another day to the job.

I've attached the checklist I used on my 92. Again, it does not include Airbag removal as I have a glovebox. It will give you an idea of what your getting into. There is nothing complex about this job, just a lot of work. And a good set of 1/4" drive extensions for your ratchet is a must.

I think the heater core is part one, and gm built the Vette around it..
Seriously, its time consuming, just be careful of all the plastics.. Brittle.

I saved this link years ago. It still works but some of the pics are not loading. May help, may not.
