‘71 Stingray with 44 Year Old Tires, One Owner

Here’s an interesting Ebay find. “One family” owned car. (Not mine nor do I know the car or seller) 2 hours until the auction ends.

No sale. Reserve not met. The final bid was $22,500.

I noticed this car when it was posted on eBay. I don't understand why a seller expecting north of $22,500 wouldn't spend $1,000 and hang a new set of decent tires on the car. I'm betting the tires are nowhere 44 years old. I'm not sure when BF Goodrich started offering the Radial T/As, but I am sure it wasn't 1976! Makes me wonder what else they know nothing about.

car guys are cheap..if one has to resort to pushing that some rotten tires make the car great it probably isnt.

I guess some fall for buying a story and find out the hard way they bought a real old car.

The BF Goodrich TA radials were a thing in the 70's... i had a set or two on my cars.. they had white lettering way back then.. OH the good OLD days.. LOL

I stand corrected. Upon further research, I found reference to an early 70's release. I had no idea! I've tried researching other tire brand offerings and found nothing concrete so I didn't bother checking the Radial T/As.

Not very impressive for 24K miles. I did notice that it has the spark plug wire bracket for numbers 2 & 4.. Mine has it too, but I don't see many 454's with it still there.

The listing has returned. She’s now listed for $20K with no reserve. An opening bid has been placed.

You would think he would put better pics for a 24k original mile LS5

I think it was 1973 that the Radial T/A's came out. ??????
B. F. G O O D R I C H

The "B" & "F" had periods after them! :)

In 1976, the A/T(all-terrain) was introduced!

Here is a 71 LS5 that was on eBay and was in a Ad for BF Goodrich

I'm watching to see if the sale goes thru. I see so many C3 sales on eBay that are relisted ten days to two weeks later. A few several times. They can't all be shill bidders.
