Z07 Level 5 Aero package

At dealer yesterday and sitting in their showroom was this awesome looking Z07. Appears there is a new level of aero package being installed (by some dealers) on the 2019's.. :crazy2:

Looks more like an improper Stage 3 installation. They didn’t take off the Stage 2 End Cap like they were supposed to do. That means the 3 screws holding the Stage 3 end cap to the front fascia aren’t holding things together properly.

EXACTLY! That's why I called it "Level 5"... lol Drove me crazy, almost walked into the GM's office about it...

When I purchased my 2015 Z07 last year from a private individual, the front endcaps were stacked like that as well. I brought it to the owners attention and he said it had been like that since he purchased (12/2014). LOL

Unfortunately it happens all to often. The "techs" doing the PDI and installing the dealer installed options/packages have no clue about what they are working on... sad.

Very sad indeed. I know when I bought my Z06/Z07 I asked the manager if they could put the stage 3 stuff on for me and he looked at me as if I had a third eye so I knew it was better I just did it myself later. The dealerships typically have NO clue what that stuff is let alone how to install it.

That’s a lot of downforce.

Zjoe6 04-16-2019 08:38 PM

Oh man, dealers are so funny. And they just keep coming up with more dumb stuff.

:iagree: When I picked mine up from the Dealer the Stage 2 caps and all the related brake cooling ducts were in boxes in the rear hatch. The car comes in without any of the ground effects installed, they asked me if I wanted either Level 2 or Level 3 Aero installed. Looks like they installed both Level 2 and Level 3 on yours.:crazy2: Somebody's right on the ball there.

Should be no issue in doing that, but unfortunately dealers that sell 2 or 3 Corvettes a year don't have a clue. Any good dealer that sells a lot of Corvettes know what the parts are, how to properly install them and will do so before delivery.

Anyone else think this? Stage 2 + Stage 3 = Level 5?

snampro 04-17-2019 03:37 PM

hilarious. well done

jaden61 04-17-2019 09:35 PM

I've seen that a few times. Even on this forum.

slacker1201 04-18-2019 09:02 PM

I would NOT let the service department work on my car. What knuckleheads!!!!!

That is the stage 2 end caps with the stage 3 end caps on top of them. You are supposed to REMOVE the stage 2 end caps before installing the stage 3 stuff but apparently the dealer just jammed it all on there. :crazy2:

BKorsaire 04-19-2019 02:23 PM

The guy who installed this was drunk?

I must say that many dealers are much less informed than their buyers, I can testify to that for having bought 2 new Vettes in your country, they don't know what they are selling, it's cruel and hallucinating to see that, here a seller would be fired for that, flagrant lack of professionalism !

AMMUSCLE 04-19-2019 02:54 PM

Know your Product

Stage 5 -- way to funny.

At least this dealer made some type of effort.

I have been in way to many dealers that have ZO6 -- ZO7"s on the showroom floor with no splitter, no side skirts, no spolier on them and they have no idea that it even comes with the vehicle.

Mine was on the showroom floor the same way too..

I told the dealer they could sell a lot more ZO6 ZO7's if they displayed them correctly.

Like I said, know your product to be an effective salesman.
