3 way components
HI, I am going to change out everything from head unit to speakers. I would like to know where other C5 owners installed the tweeters and the 3.5" mids. I have seen the 2 mids together with the tweeter, is that the best setup. Let me know where you have put them and how they sounded. Also I have two amps to run, one 4 channel and one 5 channel. Should I run them active or just use the crossovers? Thanks

So many..."it depends" answers here man. 9 channels is a lot. How many speakers/subs are you trying to run? How much experience installing do you have? How knowledgeable of tuning crossovers, slope, and polarity are you/ Are you planning on running a DSP? Installing capacitors on the tweeters? Tweets in a C5 are in the door. To run a full 3-way you'll need to make tweeter pods (or buy some) for your specific tweets...and have speaker adaptors for your factory speakers. Answer these questions, and we can better assist.

When I had my C5. I was able to put an 8", 4" midrange, 1" tweeter in the factory door location.

Ran Alpine's SPX system in my 97, then in my 02. Built a custom MDF/ Fiberglas mount for the 6.5" and 4" drivers in the door. The 4" had a sealed enclosure. Originally, these were driven off a single channel and Alpine's passive SPX MB crossover. Tweeters were re-loated to custom-molded pods in the A-pillars. Later when I installed the system in my 02, I switched to an RUX C701 active crossover. and each speaker got it's own channel (I deleted the rear speakers entirely)
