Time to Rebuild My 700R4 (2001 conversion)
I converted my C3 from TH350C to Bow-Tie Stage 2 700R4 in September 2001. Just under 18 years later and the transmission is emitting a scraping noise at front that is the worst when I am sitting at a light with transmission in Drive. Also, it is leaking badly and needs seals. It has an 1800-2100 stall converter (nearly stock).
I am looking for a trans shop local to the Tampa Bay area and will advise once I start pulling the transmission. Thankfully, I've done this a couple times before (18 years ago) so I have all of the tools and jacks/lifts for the work. |
I've had these guys build a few trannys for me including a couple 700r4's and a th350 that I run nitrous on at the track and they've held up well. I use the one in Clearwater.

My only advice would be to let who ever is going to rebuild it listen and or drive it before it is removed. Otherwise You might be doing everything twice. And who knows, it could be something simple and not need to come out in the first place.
