There is a black and yellow hose coming from the carburetor under the air cleaner with a plastic connector for another hose to connect to but someone put a screw in it. What is this hose and what connects to it?

Also found another hose that runs to the passenger windshield wiper that is not connected to anything. Is this a windshield washer fluid hose? Where does it connect?

I just bought my first older car, 1978 Corvette and dont know much about them yet so sorry if this is a stupid question but I have no idea. Thanks in advance.

Pull the air filter housing lid. There should be a green valve (sensor) like this, right rear side bottom. I believe the yellow stripe hose connects to one side of the sensor from the base of your carburetor. As the air heats up inside the air filter housing the valve begins to change state from open to closed opening the front air intake vacuum valve or valves if you have a duel intake allowing cold air into the housing. I believe in 78 the L82 had duel air intakes. The sensor doesn't care what side you land the vacuum source hose to.
