Turn Signal Won't Cancel
On my '76 the turn signal would just stay on either direction after the turn so I purchased a new complete switch. After the difficult process of replacing it I still find that my turn signal won't cancel in either direction. Any ideas why this might be??

If you do a full rotation of the steering wheel, does it still not cancel? Did you replace the cancel cam when you replaced the switch?

Doesn't matter how far I turn the wheel it won't cancel. The cancel cam. . .does it come as part of the turn signal switch? I can't say I remember replacing a cancel cam. What does it look like?

After a little further investigation I did, in fact, install the cancel cam. However, I'm not sure that it might be 180 degrees out of alignment. I'll have to pull it apart and check it.
Thanks for your help!! |

My cancelling cam was installed 180 degrees out, it can be done with a little extra effort. Then it takes a lot of wheel turning to get the signals to cancel.

You can’t install the cam 180 degrees out, but you can the steering at the rag joint. If you do, it will seem yo work correctly in 1 derection and not the other.

you can put the steering column on 180 degrees out by bolting the 2 bolts on the rag joint with bottom of wheel up when it should be down.
