N11 exhaust new Q?
Hey guys I just drove too corvette central and bought my N11 exhaust. I got it home and put it in place, and I think they cut the dr side main pipe too short? By the time I get the hanger in place and try and put a clamp on it I don’t think it will work?
Does this look right? https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...2daec869c0.jpg If I pull it towards the front it just swings back too a relaxed position/ at rest. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...f7b832c1f8.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...bcd326150a.jpg This last picture, the dr side head pipe is only in the main pipe about 3/8-1/2 in. Pass side is fine. This is the rear hanger. And as you can see it is at rest just letting the pipe hang Straight down. Give me your thoughts here? I am gonna call them in the am sat and see what they say. Thanks Troy. |
I cant comment specifically on this mfg, but I had to pull mine together using the ratchet straps end to end

Looka a bit short to me. I have the 2.5" intermediate pipes from Corvette Central (Part Number 323547) on my 68 last year. They extend approximately 1 1/2" forward of the center crossmember. I got a picture for you to see. My Corvette Central exhaust fit great.... I was pleasantly surprised since the car is 50+ years old.

pipe looks too short
you could go to a muffler shop and have a new pipe made to the right length if cc cant/wont fix it |
Mine is short like your and I never had a problem like I said in the previous post I still used the damper and I have mcjacks shorty headers the car sounds great and it’s not overbearing ... big block ...you won’t have a problem it will bolt right up

You might try writing to Corvette Central. They're really prompt at responding. Since the part numbers on mine baked off over the last 6 months I wrote to ask them the part numbers for my intermediate pipes, and they answered overnight. I wanted to see if it was same part numbers as yours (they're not). Here are mine: Odd number, 323655, is left side Even number, 323654, is right side Anyway, you can write and send them your picture and ask them if it's supposed to be that way. I wrote to them at the following: customerservice@corvettecentral.com But really, depending on what kind of hurry I was in, I might just weld on a piece of exhaust pipe and extend it, but I'm not an NCRS kind of guy :) |

Went to Corvette Central website to look up the parts they told me came with my intermediate pipes Part Number 323547 (since my stickers already burned off). Odd number, 323655, is left side Even number, 323654, is right side Looks like the same 2.5" intermediate pipes are used for the big block 2.5" system. https://www.corvettecentral.com/68-e...th-323713--mag Can you still read the stickers on your N11 intermediate pipes? It should fit like it did on mine i would expect. |

On the bottom photo I noticed the bends in the tubes below the cross member do not line up. It looks like the left one bend is lower than the right one. So that would indicate the tube is too short, but not at the ending location where you are trying to clamp it, but somewhere before that.
