New Procharger makes my Grand Sport feel like a new car!
Just got my car back from the shop with a new D1SC procharger, Injector Dynamics 1050 injectors, ATI balancer, 1-7/8" ARH headers and 3" catless x-pipe. She scoots now! Love it!! Thanks to Greg Connoyer at STG Motorsports in Granite City, IL and Tuning by Shane Hinds.

If you don't mind me asking... I'm thinking of doing a similar setup as well but still in the thinking stage... How much $ are we talking...$5k...,. Less than $10k etc...?

Does seem low for a D1SC? Even on an LS3....how much boost? Cam? Pulleys size? Fuel? Seems like your leaving ALOT of power on the table. My P1SC1 on my C6z is making 840whp on pump 93/meth. 3.7” pulley heads/cam as well. Definitely get a feel for the new gains but you’ve got a bunch of room to grow....like another150- 200whp and that’s probably conservative.
welcome to the F/I club man! Lots of knowledge and good info in the that section! Come drop by and say hello to the rest of the crazies lol!! Car looks good, if you’ve still got the eagle runflats trash those things ASAP! Horrible tire and down right dangerous at 550+whp. Not a bad time to ditch the chrome wheels too lol if you are gonna get the potential out of that D1 you’ll need a smaller wheel size, 18’s at a minimum 17’s preferable. Not sure what your intentions with the car might be...1/4 mile? 1/2 mile...roll racing....just cruising? The only “best of both worlds” tire is gonna be the Toyo R888R it’ll hook a lot of power and you can still do some corning depending on your skill. The drag radials will hook the most power obviously but are pretty much straight line designated and the toyo’s will probably be the least “instant death” tire if you get caught in the rain. Personally wouldn’t recommend any of the tires above for wet conditions. 🇺🇸 |

No cam, 7.5 psi, 91 octane. I know I can go bigger such as going with a cam, E85 or meth. Probably would need a better clutch. But all that costs more money. Feel like I've spent enough already. Maybe later down the road. It's not going to the race track, just wanted more than what I had. Puts a smile on my face.

Sweet GS! 6 hours to install headers tho - didn’t even take me that long in my garage on jack stands to install LG longtubes, catted x-pipe & Corsa Xtreme axle-back. :toetap:

davyboy ....
Congrats on the new supercharger. :) Although I have a different SC than you, I am still happy with the performance a SC gives right out of the box without a change of drive pulley, headwork or aftermarket cam. Look at it this way, at 550-560 RWHP, you are putting just as much, if not slightly more HP to the ground than a bone stock C6 / ZR1. |
