93 C4. What products and methods have you used for best results for cleaning the engine? My water pump failed so now i have a sticky mess. I don't want to use something that could damage. Someone suggested oven cleaner. I am looking for show quality results as we have a car show here in my little town. Thanks in advance. |
I use Adam's APC - All Purpose Cleaner - and a lug nut brush. If it's really bad maybe some good ole GUNK from Autozone.

Here's a video! Thanks! |
I usually just use dish soap and water in a spray bottle. Any APC will also work just fine. Spray thoroughly and rub in to get all the dirt. Clean then mothers VLR or Carpro Perl to protect and make look good.

Steam cleaner is the only way to go. Bought one last fall and wanted to just "try it out" on my FJ...I wound up cleaning the engine bay pretty decently and very very quickly.

Where do you get a "Steam cleaner" other than a commercial type unit?
