I think 9k is between a good deal and “just about right” for that car

Just from the pictures the car looks really clean and in good condition, if the inspection by the mechanic checks out I think 9k is a real good price, let us know how it turns out.
|
:thumbs:The price seems right, looks well kept, ask about how old the tires are, they are expensive and last complete service.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Will keep you in the loop.

We finalized the sale at $8800. Seller was very reasonable. Had vehicle inspected. Aside from a couple of scratches and 2 small stains to the interior it was fine. Tires are about 1/2 way through their life.
Thinking of buying a brand new set of tires. Can you gents recommend a good brand which works well with this particular Vette? Also, having the vehicle shipped from Mississippi to Long Island. I checked out a bunch of vehicle carriers. Do you guys have any recommendations for a vehicle transport carrier? |
When I got my 94 I put Khumo tires on it and they were ok. My second set are Nitto 555's and I consider them to be much better.

Sal, the best car transporter is you, buy a one way ticket and drive that beauty home

9k may be more/less than kbb but given its age if the condition and how it runs are that good then 9k is fine. Always budget a grand +- for little stuff just in case. If you bought a 6-7k one youll probably spend 2x the money you thought you saved, better to pay a little more for a real nice one. These are horrible "fixer" cars, almost nobodys doing it cheap. Enjoy! |
Oh I wish I had the time believe me :)

It has 28.5k miles and I paid 11k, the car had some issues from not being driven and I have put about 2200.00 into it to make it right. That included a new set of Continentals extreme contacts. There are a couple more things I need to do to finish. This is the first Corvette I've ever owned. I recently sold my 74 911 and the Corvette was on my bucket list. I think the C4 has great lines and yes a bit of a pain for this 66 year old to get in and out of but so worth it. I really like the car and she has plenty of power and handles great. I think for 8800 you bought a nice car that you will really enjoy. I agree with some of the others, be prepared to spend some money on it and do yourself a favor, do it right. Also I agree buy a one way ticket and drive it home and enjoy every minute. Congratulations on your purchase. |
Good price. Nice C4. Check the date the tires were manufactured. Just replaced tires on my ‘96 that were hardly worn. But they were old. So much better on the road now. Cannot enjoy any Corvette with poor tires. Best way to update an older car too.
Best of luck. |
