Spacing PS Forward for TB - best way?
 

I'm curious how others have done this. On my 99 I put a coolant line spacer in-line and added a few inches of PS tube to splice to the factory line from res to pump.

I'm looking at the 03 I just bought and am going to spray the bracket. Taking it apart, I see the previous setup is a straight line run all the way to the pump, and it is kinked up - must impede flow. A bunch of hose camps in line, too, I'm guessing to squeeze the line "open"? It seems to have worked, but definitely not optimal.

My system worked and never kinked.... but are there any better solutions?

For anyone who hasn't had to do this, it is common for anyone running LS2/3 TB with the actuator flipped to the driver side - so the PS res has to bump forward about 1 to 1.5"

Yes it is common to flip the TB over. Nitrous outlet even makes a PS spacer kit.

I found a spacer kit, but it is too short for LS2 tb, and the straight tube they offer would be kinked up like the one on my car. I think, looking at the parts I have and that he has 2 spacers of different length on each bolt, that he bought this kit and then added a spacer. Running a straight tube to the C5 pump from the reservoir won't work unless you can shape it. Maybe the many clips were as much to protect the tube from serpentine contact as shaping.

Either way, I think I will do the same thing I did on my 99 and install an in-line extension.

I never looked back at my old one. Is a coolant coupler (brass?) safe with Ps fluid? Should I seek aluminum? Other?
