Pushrod Measurement Variance
So I'm measuring for pushrods on my new/not new setup. LS3 block, Mamo 235 Heads slightly decked, Johnson 2116 LSR Lifters, YT Rockers with the 10mm upgrade (and subsequent head machining). What I'm seeing is about a .025 variance across each cylinder, with numbers 1-4 measured so far.
Is this normal? Am I pretty much looking at ordering two eight piece custom length pushrods sets given the pretty tight .025-.045 pre load requirement for the lifters? https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...a8d07e471f.jpg |
Finished measuring. Seems to jive with the intakes being longer except cylinder four which had the status quo reversed, why I'm not sure, but I triple checked it. Still not 100% convinced this much variance is normal.

I've read a disertation on how the lifters work and that a slightly shorter pushrod produces better torque -- looking to see if I can find it again. This much variance does not make sense to me, unless the lifters are on different parts of the base circle. What are you using for verification of cam timing -- degree wheel and pointer? Dial indicator on the lobe via pushrod?

Measuring intake valves with the exhaust valve just starting to open, and the exhaust valve with the intake valve just starting to close. Failsafe way to ensure it's on the base circle.
