Looks real good. Those are all top notch parts and I am sure she is going to scream.

But if this is a track car, what have you done to address the following?
  • Brakes
  • Tires/Wheels
  • Suspension
  • Heat mitigation (radiator, oil cooler)
  • Oiling system (dry sump tank insert and oil pan baffle)
  • Aero
  • How to put E85 in your tank when the track doesn't have E85. 91 octane isn't going to cut it at 13:1
  • Safety (harness, harness bar etc)

Cam Specs?

With 13:1 compression, can you even drive it on the street with just California gas?

NathanErcse 05-12-2019 02:36 PM

Thanks for the replies! I’m at work dipping strawberries, but when I’m off i’ll update some more with pictures..

BTR 3 Cam
I will be running full E85... or E98 out of a drum if I have too..

Lost me at BTR 3. Why not a custom camshaft?

It was something “quick” while I did my heads cam.. I’m most likely going to call Tony and have him custom spec me a cam.. even though I worked for Engle cams before.. seen you on these forums and Instagram Jay

The BTR 3 will make good power but fall off quick. It's a great cam, just surprised you weren't going custom with this type of build.

I would talk to Cam Motion before Tony, but that's just my opinion.

Pat G, Cam Motion, Ed C, etc before Tony IMO

Get rid of those absolute garbage Pfadt Mounts. Mine had melted on my C5 after 10k miles.

I drive my 12.78:1 static compression ratio NA LS7 in AZ with 91 octane and Torco with zero issues.

Isn't the zr1 pump pwm? So how do you control it since the Z06 ecu doesn't have the control built in?

Racingswh 05-12-2019 08:54 PM

Hope the build goes well and you get the results you're looking for!!

Tony Mamo put together a nice package for me for road racing if that's the Tony you are talking about. Makes decent power and makes it when it's supposed to over a broad RPM range. He specified the cam in it. Quite frankly I have never seen a better, flatter torque curve which works pretty well for road racing. I have only seen more ( a lot more) from the HPR 468 which is a beast.

If he's helping you it will work great if a road racing track car is your intended purpose.

Yes really. Don't put that trash in your car.

What did you replace them with?

phxcobra 05-13-2019 12:26 AM

Are they solid mounts? And why not the walbro e85 pump?

My Pfadt engine mounts were melted and deformed so that the motor was basically laying on the orange pedestals.

I replaced them with OEM mounts protected by heat shielding. They have been good for many miles since. I have headers and bolt ons, and I drive the car hard.

Many people here will tell you not to put them on because they have experiences of them bursting. However, this is because no one takes the time to protect the OEM type mount when they add headers and increase proximity to heat.

Sure you could go with a hinson or AMT which is virtually solid and solve the problem, but I dislike the NVH, so I decided not to use them. To each their own.

why a 2012 or later z06 fuel pump?
