Bubba strikes again.
Only in one coil and not the other.
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...5060cce97.jpeg Presumably the coil on one side was sagging ? I have no idea. Tho I am quite sure this is nothing good. |
Why only one side ? Hmmm. I guess it is possible they popped out of the other side. I find it hard to believe only one side was sagging
Toss in yer $0.02 ? |
Ugly !

Maybe one isn’t seated in the pocket correctly.
|
Bubba probably put on some weight. Unless it was on the passenger side. Then it was Bubbas cousin/girlfriend.
|
Was this originally a SB Vette, then was fitted with a heavier BB? Instead of installing the stronger big block springs someone . . . . . . . . . .
|
man you guys gotta cut Bubba a break. Just think about how many cars he fixes-i mean works on...
|
Hey, i had about a half dozen of those in my 56 ragtop on each side after the 348 was installed, was real nose heavy.
Leveled it out real fast  Take them out and see what happens? |
I’m guessing the Kewpie doll will go to croaker. I’ll be the other spring wasn’t seated properly.
Stay tuned. |

Only had enough money to do one side. Was still saving up for the other side but just couldn't scrape the funds together in time.

:rofl::rofl:
the more I read these answers... the more I wonder: WHY ?!?! |
All kidding aside, I did a little bit of digging. If you search eBay for front coil spring adjusters, you get almost 6000 hits. Many of these are for coil overs but a lot look like coil to coil clips rather than the spacer on yours. It’s obviously “a thing.” Maybe one of the forum suspension guys will chime in as to purpose.
|
Indeed. It feels like it was a Mr. Gasket thing in the 80s. What surprises me is not only did I not see it till now... but neither did import tech inspection
|
I'm embarrassed to admit this, but when I was 16 I had a 64 Impala with 4 of those spacers on each side in the back to fit my Cragar SS wheels. Surprisingly they never came out. Thankfully.
|
Cars have gotten lighter? Springs have gotten better? Springs have gotten cheaper for sure. These days, probably majority of hobbyists want car lowered.
Used to be a card of them on counter or on wall at every parts store. |

My .02....Bubba put them in to level the front of the car side to side. Is the car fender to ground level right now? Also check that something else in the front suspension is not bent. I had an issue due to the car getting hit on the drivers side. Had to replace a brace to fix.

Is it on the right side.
Do you have a/c. is the car level. |
