Caravaggio Seats paid for - Need your cores

Please read details carefully. (a/k/a, don't message me asking for pics of seats, you didn't read and I won't respond.)

So, I paid for a set of custom Caravaggio C7 seats to be made from my OEM comp seats. Well, I crashed my car back in March at Road Atlanta so that is now not happening.... The covers I had made are OEM black leather with platinum stitching, alcantara center inserts, and a seat bottom harness pass-through provision.

Full gloss carbon shells, carbon harness provision, etc.

Should look like this but with platinum stitching and no headrest embroidery.

These are stitched and ready to install on YOUR seats (Competition or GT core, it does not matter you'll get Comp seats in the end according to John). You can call John at Caravaggio and confirm if you would like, and check my threads to see my crashed car to confirm my story.

Here's the deal, I will sell you my "in progress" seats for $3,000.00 (with you paying any associated fees) and you ship John your factory seats. He will assemble the seats and send you back a beautiful seat of custom seats, ready to go on track with a proper 5/6 point harness provision, unlike what GM provided. These seats retail for $6,375.00 for the pair, so you could get them over 1/2 off!!

Factory heating and cooling will remain intact, assuming your car came with that option.

Email me at fleming23@yahoo.com and we can exchange phone numbers to discuss in more detail if you would like, or PM me on here and I'll respond as soon as I see. I'm not looking for "tire-kickers", please don't waste time if you don't have $3k to spend/waste on seats.

Great looking seat...

Eric,
I looks like the seat back upholstery doesn't change much (if at all) from stock to Carvaggio with the biggest change being the seat bottom with the high bolsters. Do you know how much higher the seat bottom bolsters are? Will they keep the legs in place better than the stock bolsters?

I assume you chose the platinum stitching to match the interior of your car. I just looked at the stitching on my Comp Seats and it isn't white but I am not sure what the platinum stitching looks like. My interior Jet Black. Do I have to get a picture from Carvaggio showing the platinum stitching or do you have a picture of your old seats?

Also where is the sub belt pass through located on the Carvaggio seats? I didn't see any pictures on their site showing a sub belt pass through. Also what does the sub belt mount to under the seat? Something on the seat frame or a mount on the floor?

Bill

Bill, that is correct, the seat back is the same as stock, outside of the stitching and inserts. The lower side bolster is increased, but by how much I do not know exactly, nor has John provided specific details on the modification. I do know, as would you, that the lower cushion was the area that lacked the most if you used the OEM seats on track as your legs would tend to move around quite a bit in turns.

So my car is/was Long Beach Red with ebony interior, which comes stock with "platinum" stitching so these seats will perfectly complement a factory black interior that was not a red or blue stitched car.

I included two photos of my car to show the stitching; the first is from custom leather wrapped panels I had in the rear hatch with ebony leather and platinum stitching, and the second is just the stock seats.

Regarding sub belt passthrough. If you look at the image below, this is the area where the belt should pass through the seat, as that is where the heating element stops. I stole these from another thread on this site, but the concept is the same. What I don't have are photos of my actual stitched covers from Caravaggio to show the exact example. My plan was to tie the sub belt to the seat frame, which John confirmed should not be an issue based on available space. If that did not work, I would have used my left over VetteWorks sub/belt harness mounts and went under the seat to the rear seats studs.

Hope that helps!

UPDATE - This is a seat John did with the sub belt pass through. He was going to do the same on mine.

But with this basic look, just no yellow stitching or headrest embroidery.

Bump.

This is close to $7k in seats for a couple weeks of your time (2-3 estimated) and $3k.

I know one of you want these!

DoingOK 05-16-2019 08:22 AM

Damn tempting. Caravaggio makes fantastic products.

I agree. I'm sad I won't get to enjoy these seats, I was really looking forward to them. I have Caravaggio Suede carpet all throughout the car, along with a bunch of leather wrapped panels and gloss carbon. Unfortunately, all of it is getting destroyed sitting in a salvage yard waiting on the car to go to auction as the removable roof is not in the car at the moment :(

Zan Dad 05-17-2019 06:46 PM

Damn those look amazing

fleming23 05-21-2019 04:08 PM

Bump. Lots of interest but no one yet willing to send their seats to John to be recovered. Shipping from California is $6-800, which is about as far away as anyone has asked about, but probably similar for most locations due to size.

I was going to strap my seats to a pallet, wrap them in shrink wrap and send them along.

GT or Comp seats, it does not matter, John needs your complete cores to refinish into the Comp seats as shown above.

fleming23 05-29-2019 07:50 AM

Bump. These are still available. Just tire kicking at this point.

fleming23 06-11-2019 01:31 PM

Interest died down on these. Bump for anyone still looking, or who missed this post originally.

TBC7Z 06-12-2019 11:39 PM

I’d be interested in this. I have the standard GT seats and would like comps.

fleming23 07-09-2019 07:49 AM

This offer is still available to one of you. Somewhere, someone will want to swap their stock seats and get a set of beautiful Caravaggios.

emperors61 07-09-2019 06:51 PM

Where is Caravaggio located?

I see. I was interested in this until I saw you lose the seat airbags. :(

My car winters in Ontario, so I could have dropped it off and had the work done then.

Not sure where you got that info but you do not lose the side airbags at all.

I assume you have the Sebring Seats package: "These race seats give you the best of both worlds. A race style seat that still retains the factory recline feature. Based on the stock C6 Corvette seats, they retain all factory options except the side air bags. Available in all leather, or add some Alcantara. Have contrasting stitching to match the exterior of the car for that custom look. All seat shells come finished in a glossy carbon fiber finish, or optional matte carbon finish."
