1969 VIN stamp

Hey all. Looking to buy this EBAY 69. What do you all think of the VIN stamp? Original or restamp? |
Yu need to post the whole pad or at least the other half showing the build stamp.
|
Nice red/red convertible with white top, but I was surprised that the seller didn't post a photo of the entire pad.
I assume that it's an LM, L36, 427/390hp, Rochester Q-jet, Hydraulic Lifters & 4-Speed. |
The VIN tag doesn't look right and rosette rivets were not used.

These kinds of issues make me nervous.

I have zero issue with restamp motor, fake trim tag. Messing with that vin tag is a federal crime. At the very least of this particular car, verify vin from frame.

vin tag is a killer, you need to do real research to make sure that you can even title that car let alone resell it....
46K for a real red red big block roadster with a questionable vin tag ( surprised the rivets got by the judges in 2010 ) is about the ceiling for this car. rarely see a car bid up this high. there are 9 corvettes on ebay that are 1969 427 roadsters right now, they made bunches of them... you should be able to find one for that price that has zero excuses. |

Great looking car, very nice restoration. I think the engine stamp looks fine. If the VIN matches the title and the car is currently titled, what's the issue?
I would have no problem at all buying this car. Don't let paranoia be your guide. Greg |
It is against the law to take the Vin tag off and reattach it to the same car. Or take the Vin tag off and reattach it to a different windshield pillar that you installed in the same car. In this case you want to see pictures of the number on the frame and the number on the transmission. I don't like the number on the engine. It's too clean. It's too pretty. Should be 50 years of aging their. It looks like it was stamped last week.

The numbers and showing M font look the same as on my 69 427 LM engine. The vin tag rivets are not.
|
What do other improvements have to do with the VIN or engine stamp? Maybe the guy did some improvements big deal.
