Left Side Rear Tub Vent ... purpose?
 

In the process of installing sound deadening and uncovered this vent. Would like to know what purpose it serves. I suspect to relieve cabin pressure when closing trunk or hatch? Thanks

All cars have something like this. It's just in most vehicles it's in the rear bumper/fascia area, and is usually exposed when you remove the bumper/fascia.

If you want to ever wire a reverse camera or something similar this is a good place to go in through where you don't have to drill.

Well, from my experience it doesn't work worth a s***. LOL

Well it's gone now and covered with two layers of 80 mil sound deadening. Appeared to be a direct dump to the wheel-well. Not anticipating any interior venting problems as the car is a vert and top is down 90% of the time.
