Fuel line replacement cost 1996 LT4
 

Hello,

I recently noticed that the rubber portion of the fuel lines near the tank have a leak. From my understanding, the only way to replace this correctly is to remove the rear bumper cover. Does anyone have any idea what the cost is to have the job done? I know the cost of the lines themselves are just over $100 a piece. The car is a 1996 Grand Sport. Thank You!

If the rubber hoses between hard lines and tank fittings are short enough (like on my '88 & '89) it should just be a matter of cutting the faulty rubber line, remove it and replace with same length rubber gas-line hose.

I think that can all be done once the rubber boot is removed to expose the lines atop the tank, as is done when replacing the fuel pump.

After watching a u-tube vid showing that area, the hoses look kind of long. If the leak is not close to the filler neck it may be necessary to remove the rear facia to replace an entire rubber hose.

You should be able to access that area through the top filler area after removing the boot it as 65Z01 mentioned. I mounted a 5 gallon fuel cell in that area and a battery to the right without removing the rear bumper. As I recall, the lines were accessible. The fuel lines should only cost a few bucks.
