That sounds like a lot. What HP numbers are you shooting for? What are you doing to the rest of the drivetrain? Will the trans and rear stand up to that?

I’d be curious how it tunes.

Looks like it’ll be a fun build. What cam you going with? You doing long tube headers and xpipe or just headers? Catted non?

my car is BTR stage 2 cam, Johnson lifters, 15% lower, CNC ported heads, DSX flex and aux pump, AFE intake, Mamo ported tb, mm catch can, weapon x HX, kooks 2” lt headers, kooks catted xpipe and Corsa extreme.

I didnt want want to go meth and was limited to an E40 tune due to running out of fuel high side. Next round will be Maggie, high side fuel and 103mm tb.

Sounds like $25k well spent! Keep us posted on dyno results. Beautiful car!

not sure what type of tires you are running, but if you're still on stock run flats you might want to add that to the least of things to research.

I have almost nearly the same set up. I have the ARH 1 7/8's coated headers, CPR 5" custom intake, dual nozzle meth, Katech 103mm TB, 23% lower, and CPRs lowside fuel pump. Made 861rwhp, on E50ish. Made 18# boost on on 80mm upper pulley. The 70mm got us to 22# but had some belt slip. CPR is working on this issue and projects mid 900s at the wheel. You are going to love it. Put 345 Toyos on the rear to get it to hook better. Hope you get the numbers you want.

Yeah, quite a few things are going to be going on the car. As far as drivetrain goes I’m not doing any mods, there is a 1000hp A8 on the forums or instagram and it has had no issues. As far as the trans goes.... it’s rated pretty high but I hope it lasts and can handle the power. This setup can make a lot of power but I’ll be just aiming for 800ish as I still want to have a reliable daily and don’t want to break anything. Car should be fine.

Should be fine, the tuner Gptuning does LSX and LT4 and works on mostly chevys and has done many A8 transmissions. Definitely a fun build and I’m not sure the exact cam as gptuning ordered everything, it is a stage 2 cam and the headers are catless and connect to a 3 inch x pipe that came with the lg Motorsport headers. How much hp are you making to the wheels with that setup?

For sure I will update the thread and post the dyno numbers before and after the mods!

Right now I’m running 285/35/19 and 315/35/20 Nitto NT555 which won’t hook with that power. Got 19/19 inch rims coming and I’ll be running Nitto Nt05R either 305/35/19 or 345/30/19s.

Solid build brotha! What nittos are you running and they grip fine at that power? Gonna need a lot of meat in the rear to grip!

AZGASSER 05-17-2019 12:25 AM

I am running Toyo r888rs on 19" wheels all the way around. 295 front, 345 rear. They are pretty decent at hooking. Can still break them loose but much better than factory.

Sick, some meaty tires for all that power. Going to run some Nitto NT05R's on 19 rears and hopefully they grip with the power.

Toddiesel 05-17-2019 05:56 PM

I was going to suggest the R888Rs as well. I'm running them on 20s myself. THe NT05Rs might be a little better dry, but I think they will be scary af in the rain. Do let us know how they perform for you. I'm most curious about wet weather performance, but I'm guessing you're probably not even going to drive it when the roads are wet.

AZGASSER 05-17-2019 08:18 PM

Those tires are the fronts, the rears are almost 14" wide. I have not had them in heavy rain with pooling water. Just drive smart and you will be OK. Word of caution, these tires are loud. Like to the point I had driving on the highway for more than 30 mins. Would not suggest a road trip with them. It's a trade off for better performance.

Toddiesel 05-18-2019 06:34 AM

Eh. They're certainly louder than the PSSs, but I don't feel like they're THAT loud. I made a 2 hour drive last weekend and it didn't bother me that much. Don't even really notice over the regular road noise of the car, imo. You might have to turn up the volume of your stereo a few ticks but it's far from deafening. Someone also posted in another thread that it makes a significant difference if you don't put them on the front, so that's an option

AZGASSER 05-18-2019 07:59 AM

At highway speeds they can be heard over catless headers and the radio at 1/3 volume. I have two 10” subwoofers that can drown them out but when trying to have a conversation not really fun. Someone else mentioned different front as well. Only 500 miles on the tires so not ready to do that.
We road tripped 3000 miles in the MPSS and could sleep in the car but not with these. It is the steady drone over 65 and worse in concrete vs asphalt.

Thanks for that info.... I may still try them on the rear, but definitely won’t on the front now. I like quiet road trips... I keep the NPP closed most of the time so... drone would drive me nuts.
