Ignition Module
Has anyone replaced their ignition module that is located just behind the ignition coil? The module looks like other ignition modules, it is black with a white dot in the center and 4 pins at the top for the pigtail. It is located on the same plate as the coil. I can't find any aftermarket modules. I would rather go with an aftermarket module other than stock. Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Ignition Module (konroh)
konroh is right, I have an LT-1, so I do not have the setup oldace84 is talking about. I have the optispark. I emailed summit and Holley and they do not carry any ignition modules for my setup and do not know where to get any. Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Ignition Module (hotdawg1)
I put one on a friends 93 and picked it up from an acdelco dealer. They had it instock. If you are looking for some kind of performance upgrade, I am not familiar with any. Maybe someone else here has seen such a product
good luck, david |
Re: Ignition Module (hotdawg1)
Why not use the OEM type? I don't think the ICM is a performance upgradable area of the ignition system-- it either does it thing or it doesn't.
P.S. be sure to use heat sink compound between the aluminum heat sink (that the ICM and Coil are mounted to) and the back of the ICM :yesnod: [Modified by Lone Ranger, 6:19 PM 11/7/2002] |
Re: Ignition Module (Lone Ranger)
Mine died, and I replaced it with one from Borg Warner. I believe they just repackaged the GM one. It had the same identical writing etc. as my origianal.
