Typical cost to tune and dyno
I am looking to get my car tuned and I was referred to a shop that does a tune and dyno for $650.
That seems like a lot of money so I am curious what I should expect to pay for this service. I have a base model with Z06 exhaust, NPP, high flow air filter and I live in California |
I paid $750 more than 10 years ago in GA. The tuner said anyone can tune a car on a dyno, he was charging for the tuning he was also going to do while the car was being driven on the street.
$650 doesn't sound too bad. |
I paid $350 to JB Performance, in Ontario, CA for a street tune, but that did not include a dyno. I guess the dyno makes up the difference in prices, which makes sense. And it makes sense the dyno would maximize the effect of tune so it would be well worth the extra $$$
However, Jorge at JB Performance wanted me to come back to retune for free when I got my NPP working to maximize it at full open exhaust and fix the check engine light, t but he has since disappeared off the charts. Ghosted! He does not return, phone, text, or emails and Yelp says his shop is closed. His was highly recommended on this forum and I drove two hours to have him do the work. |
Ryne Cunningham is still tuning in So Cal. I know because he just did mine. Same phone # and same email on his facebook page.
Two hours on the dyno $700.00 |
Had mine tuned at Church Automotive Testing in Wilmington CA on a DynoPack Chassis Dynometer for $600. It took about 2.5 hours
Took It up to 506hp at the crank and 422hp at the wheels. Its a whole different car and worth every penny! https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...f91e94222b.jpg |
I paid 700 at LG Motorsports near Dallas. Worth it.
