You're how old???

Just curious what the average age of a current C6 owner is?
My current age is 55.
I bought my first C5 at age 40, my second C6 at age 47 and my third C6 at age 54.

Bought my first Vette, a 1974, when I was 21
Second, a 1982 I fully restored, when I was 37
Third, a 1987 Callaway Twin Turbo, when I was 40
Fourth, a 1986 DD, when I was 41 (Owned this and the two above at the same time for a while)
Fifth is the 2006 I currently own which I bought new as a gift to myself when I retired from the Air Force when I was 46.

Somewhat related question, which gen Corvette has the most "young" drivers by percentage? C5?

Delbert 05-18-2019 05:02 PM

I am 75 and bought my first Corvette new in 1967 when I was 22. Since then, my wife & I have always owned one. A 1970, 1976, 1995 and now our 2010 which we will probably keep!!

I'm 69, bought my first Vette, a 1957, when I was 23. Since then I have owned a total of 20, at least one each of C1, C2, C3,C4, C5, C6, and C7. I currently own a 2006 Monterey Red convertible. Guess my midlife crisis started early.

You go in 10 year spans from 40 up to 60. I guess at age 55, you think there must be very few under 40 who could afford one or over 60 that are still able to drive one. :toetap:

I'm 37 now got my first vette when i was 34. I have 2011 grand sport. I've always had Camaro's never knew how affordable Vette's were. I thought they costed a lot more than they did

59 years old... I spent most my money on fast cars and fast women... The rest I just wasted....

I'm 62. Bought my first Vette when I was a junior in high school, a blue 68 in Colorado Springs. It was waiting to go to detail when I bought it. My dad co-signed. I pretty much drove it into the ground and graduated from college and ordered a new Grand Prix. I should have had the Vette rebuilt.I haven't had another until 2 months ago.

Bought my first Corvette this year at 58, cause you know 50 is the new 30!

I’m 53. I retired in 2012 at 46 years of age. My retirement gift was a 12K mile 2005 C6 Coupe purchased in 2013. We traded the ‘05 for a 18K mile 3LT 2012 C6 Grand Sport in 2017. We then bought my dream Corvette, a 1972 C3 Stingray Coupe, in 2018. Both current Vettes are fair weather toys driven only for pleasure!

Never underestimate an old man. Reflexes may be a tad slower but still capable of embarrassing the young.

Solaris 05-18-2019 07:09 PM

Going by my elementary math education, none of the above. I'm 39. Bought my first Corvette at 29, a 2006 Z06.
