The Last time my wife will drag me to a yard sale

Hi All,
As the title states we went to the yard sale, I absolutely did not want to go, but it turned out to be a good day for me. A 1960 C1 was parked by the garage begging to be taken home. That is the ugliest car I’ve ever seen, says my wife. This was the first time I’ve ever actually tried a C1 one on for size, perfect fit and the price was right. My wife is in part correct, the color is not optimal and the interior seems to have been based a 70’s swingers convention. Pictures attached.
Will send additional details as I work through getting it road worthy.

Just curious if you'd be willing to share what you paid for it? My wife would love that one since her brother's first car (at 15 YO) was a 62 Vette. She helped him strip it to bare fiberglass and some of the restoration. I see the promise in the one you bought!

Congrats and welcome aboard. Perhaps you should post in the C1 & C2 section and if you need help fixing her up, thats the section you want to go to. Good luck.

Nice score . . . and nothing that's ugly on that car (and there are more than a few things) can't be put right fairly easily. Enjoy.

Looks like a great score!

I agree....none of the retro "Huggy Bear" 70s nastiness is irreversible from what I can see..

I love it. You did well!

Yup - he'll have to come home from the next yard sale with a ton of garden gnomes and knick-knacks to make up for this I'm betting...

That was a good choice to go to the yard sale! Congratulations!

And the bonus is your wife will probably NEVER ask you to go to a yard sale again!:D

After reading an earlier thread of yours Frank, I packed up all 6 boxes of Christmas ornaments and shipped them to you. You'll have plenty of time to figure out how to store them and organize them before Christmas!!
Cheers. Don't have any Gnomes to send you, but I'll comb the local yard sales.....:hide:

Nice find. I think if you install shag carpet the interior might be more appealing.

No more Christmas at my house; we've switched to Festivus - no decorations -- all you need is a pole...

A couple of years ago a similar car was posted, also a '60 I think. I called it The Borneo Bomber.....it had an interior sewn up with genuine cape buffalo hide. Very expensive and very well done, though an acquired taste, for sure. I liked it enough that I would have left it alone had the car been mine. What is the actual seat cover material on this particular car? Very curious, now. The quality of the install and the wood veneer, although dated, seems to be of very high quality here.

It takes a certain mindset to chrome an old generator and then bother to put the Delco-Remey tag on it....
I'm just sayin'
