Looking for PowerMaster Alternator for 95 ZR1.
Went up to the C4 Gathering last week and had a great time at the HPDI event on Wednesday and track laps on Thursday. On the way home my alternator began to fail. Managed to limp the rest of the way home with a new battery and partially functional alternator. I am looking for a 200 amp powermaster. Summit has one CS144. I think this is the correct unit but may need to be re-clocked and the pulley swapped with the original. Looking for some feedback on this. I will also likely have the original rebuilt.

PowerMaster are good but designed for modded cars with a higher idle the idle amps at low rpm are not high.

Have the stock one rebuilt by a reputable shop and it'll be fine.

If you are not set on a PowerMaster unit, I can highly recommend one from Jerry. I remember messing around with alternators for our cars and his are excellent and proven replacements.

https://www.jerrysgaskets.com/altern...itioned-90-95/ good price and it comes with a bit smaller pulley to speed up the alt wonder if this would give just a bit more zots to my fans at idle (hmmmm.....) that seems like a pretty good deal to me! |
