Sunday Photos
These two photos do it for me. Second week in a row that I chose C3 pictures. Congrats to all the new C7 owners!!
Perhaps my C3 favoritism was caused by your beautiful 1978 Corvette "pace car" leading the thread today. I bet one would look great in your garage too. My girlfriend's new 2019 is still in the garage with fewer than 200 miles on it so far, but we are taking both of our Stingrays out for a drive today. We are also driving both of them in a Memorial Day parade tomorrow near Richmond. Our Corvette club is participating......along with Mustang, street rod and Harley clubs. What a great way to honor the fallen! All of us gave some, but some truly gave all. Have a wonderful day, Mr. Furman!! :cheers:https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...00c29db209.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...51bf4bf1a8.jpg |
Thanks Mike another great Sunday post, and hope you have a good holiday weekend.

Thanks for a GREAT Memorial Day thread, buddy! And thanks to all Veterans this weekend.
By the way, I'm right there with you on the '78 Pace Car. The '63 Split Window and the '78 Pace Car need to be in my garage too. This was interesting...... https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...42ca5e3f3e.jpg Love, love, love this..... https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...c73d10365c.jpg I still love these old ads..... https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...9d5ac335d5.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...534ce63c01.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...a3632b0fac.jpg And what is this mid engine????? https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...d2c0d581ca.jpg |

Yes, please provide the back story on this with the C8 to be so soon. :flag: https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...71120a856.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...65956541c.jpeg PS: And my favorite this Memorial Weekend is not a car but the cartoon. :flag: :salute::flaghalfmast: |
Thanks for another week of great photos Mike!
That Tommy Milner race edition is a fantastic looking car. |
GMike wishing you a Great Memorial Day as we remember those that served our Great Nation and gave all for the freedom we cherish! This pic was another appropriate tribute to this Memorial Day!
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...ae1514c5e2.jpg I also selected this pic of a very strange Corvette! That looks like Zora on the right between the two other gentlemen! https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...9f9982dd07.jpg All the new C7 owners selected great looking Vettes, but I must say Duane P's Tommy Milner GS; Evan R's Black absolutely WICKED ZR1, and Manual A's Long Beach Red Z06 convertible with Spice Red interior and top each really flip my switch, and they are not even Torch Red, which you know is my favorite Corvette color! |
Love the pic with the 1930 Ford and your Z06 Mike, very neat.

Great story about the guy with the '30 Ford.
Mike. I remember when these first came out. I would drool over the new '78 Silver Anniversary Editions and Pace Cars in the show rooms and lots at Malcolm Konners, Preakness and Hawthorne Chevy. I was 18 and couldn't afford a $13-$14K Corvette so I bought a low mile used '74 that year for $5,700. By comparison my friend bought a brand new base '78 Z28 Camaro for about what I paid for my '74 Corvette then. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...05e096e52a.png |
Happy holiday weekend Mike, and everyone!!
|
Stunning.....
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...b7fd85381c.jpg And I've told you this story before, but a friend of mine in Denver bought 14 of the 78 Indy Pace Cars when they came out. He sold 12 of them a year later for almost triple what he paid and kept 2 of them and put them up on blocks. I have no idea if he has them today or if he sold them. He offered to sell me one of the 12 for MSRP but I couldn't afford it back then. Have a great weekend Mike. |
This thread is "must see" on Sunday mornings for me. Thanks Mike, as always.
