Man, that defeit to the 720S was embarassing!! i didn,t expected to be this bad, WOW!! How come the ZR1 is so far behind!!?? since its an A8, it cant really be a driver issue!!

Its too heavy. Mclaren is hundreds of pounds lighter. Cannot cheat the law of physics.

I've driven both and the 720S is an incredible machine, accelerates like nothing else I've ever been in. However, the ZR1 still does ok when we're looking at more than straight lines.

That does show that HP numbers, isn't everything!! Love those Mclarens, but out of my range!!

From the video Sean posted on the road course, the ZR1 did just fine and kept right up...

Agreed, straight up irresponsible and stupid. If you want to claim a REAL win bring your ass to the track and take a shot........otherwise shut your mouth. Street racing is not racing. We have a huge issue here in Tampa and EV is actively leading a campaign to "Take it to the Track"

McLaren under-rates their engines, it's close to 800hp.
50hp + 450lb weight advantage and the result is predictable.....

Is that 720s on stock tires? From what I recall they are either the shitty p-zero or p-zero corsa. Either way, the tires on the zr1 are superb. I'm curious if McLaren will make a track focused LT variant of the 720s.

I put it in the video description but the ZR1 was on Pirelli DH scrubs and the 720 was on Hoosier R7.

It actually does . On paper the ZR1 May have 35 more HP but on the dyno the 720 is about 35 more HP than the ZR1 and not to mention the 400 lbs weight advantage the McL has , and the DCT too shifts much faster

camirocz 06-26-2019 09:10 PM

Mc Laren 720s is the ultimate.Much more money than a Zr1 though.

That 720S is for real. Shouldn’t encounter many of them and if you do the conditions might not be right to run. ZR1 still represents.
