Blind spot mirror

Just installed the new blind spot mirror from ‘Sandyeggo designs’ on my C7. First off, I adjust my mirror to show my blind side but I still missed seeing more of what was behind me without having to do a major head tilt. That’s why I spent $48 to get this mirror. So far i’m Glad I did. It looks like a quality product. Use a little care and installation is simple. Yes there is a little distortion but it’s not excessive. Most important it really works. I can see straight behind the left side and still pick up left side traffic basically until it’s along side me. I haven’t verified if I still have auto dimming or not but even if I don’t this is still a winner for me. Only potential problem is if you want to remove it after a day or so that may not be possible since the 3M adhesive is supper strong. I’d rather deal with that than have my $50 mirror fall off.

You will for sure lose auto dimming. You just covered the mirror that does the dimming with another mirror. It won't come through.

Thanks for the post. One clarification, if you buy it from our website it is $34.99.

Plus shipping —total for me came to $48–and no discount for forum members.

I don't have a record of selling a Pana-View Blind Spot Mirror to anyone named Jerry in Delaware.
Also, our shipping charge is not that high.

Losing auto-dimming was an upgrade in my view. The glare from that mirror never bothered me, and it dims too much. I also love the SandyEggo Designs no blindspot mirror.

I placed my order through the Corvette Forum from “custom corvette accessories” a forum supported vendor (I think). The order # was 125-4851! I actually thought I was ordering from Sandyeggo Designs but evidently that was not the case. I did learn something. Custom Corvette Accessories has expensive shipping charges and their shipping time leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully this exercise will save other forum members time and $$$. I still like your product!!

I agree. I'm going to order one of these shortly. I really would like to be able to have extra visibility in the car's blindspots. The driver's side mirror dimming doesn't make sense to me.

That was the DEAL BREAKER for me. I drive my C7 at night quite a bit. I'm not going to lose the night dimming by covering it up. NFW...

I had one of those small, convex mirrors on my C6 for several years. I used it all the time, and never failed seeing anyone in my blind spot. It was never a problem. I just picked one up for my C7 for 89 cents. It works for me.

Are you talking about those little circle mirrors you put on the corner or are you talking about another overlay piece? Do you have a picture or link to the product?

It's exactly the same shape as the OEM glass and sticks right on top of it.

Something to consider:

Auto-dimming works by darkening the entire mirror. Not just the point of light being reflected, but the entire mirror.
This may not always be optimal for some drivers because its harder to see objects at night when dimmed.

Our Pana-View Blind Spot Mirror does not include auto-dimming. It is a simple stick-on accessory like the small circular ones commonly available.
However, the Pana-View Blind Spot Mirror will inherently reduce glare from headlights because the light is NOT reflected directly (into your eyes). The curved shape disperses the light which makes it much less intense to the viewer.

Drivers will need to decide if this is sufficient and worth the greatly added visual coverage the Pana-View Blind Spot Mirror provides.

I know, that’s why it was funny. The OP ended his thread at $50. If it was any longer the price might have hit $100

Once you get it installed let us know what you think of it.

The night dimming for me is the most important thing, can not give that up :iagree:

I went to Wal-Mart and got a pair of stick-on convex mirrors for about three bucks. No more problems with blind spots for lane changes or parking close to curbs, etc., etc.

My 2LT is supposed to have the auto-dimming mirror, but I honestly almost never drive at night - so that is not really much of an issue.
