That new TB looks fantastic! Have you been able to use one on a Whipple 2.9 yet? Just wondering at what level you would recommend the 112 over your 103.

The bolt pattern on the 112 is different so I don't think it wouldn't work on the Whipple unless they added more holes. We found the need for a larger throttle body when testing our LT5 with the 103. We also had a Whipple 2.9L on the dyno that showed some depression behind the throttle body. I'm not sure if it was throttle body or snout related.

Jason, is there enough meat in the Mag2300 snout to port match that to it?

Same question, Currently have your 103mm TB & snout on a 2300 setup.
Can this be used with the 2300?

No way, I have a 103 on my 2.3 and the snout flange is real thin right now, too thin for a gasket. I have threadlocker for sealant between the Tb and snout....

Yeah, that's what I was thinking just looking at the 103 snout I have now.. Its pretty thin.
Katech made a 2300 snout in the past to accommodate the 103 before Magnusson was offering one as an option.
Maybe they are planning on offering a solution for this TB as well? :D

Or maybe Magnuson has one in the works?
Im guessing the 2300 would gain some boost without any other changes going from a 103 to the 112mm. Assuming the intake is not a bottleneck.

Really wanted to get this for my 2.9 Whipple. Why cant it have the same bolt patterns as the 103? I really like the Katech 103mm but this 112 could really benefit me since im running over 22 psi.

Since you can use the ICT Billet adapter to run an LT5 throttle body on a typical LT1/LT4 inlet, I wonder if that same adapter could be used with the 112mm TB...?

UPDATE: I just took my calipers and did some measuring, and have some thoughts...
1. The Whipple inlet is already 112mm in size! But bolt pattern is typical LT1/LT4... so...
2. The ICT Billet adapter fixes the bolt pattern to allow you to run a regular LT5 95mm TB. The adapter opening is only 93.5mm, but if you open it up all the way it would be 108.5mm, which might work. You wouldn’t be able to use the o-ring gasket, that’s all.
3. Maybe the better way to go is to ask someone like ICT to make us another LT5 to LT1/4 adapter, but this time with the 112 opening...?

I know some guys running NW 112. I just have to wait for katech to reply.

There isn't enough material for the 103mm, let alone the 112. We made a billet snout to use the 103 on a Magnuson TVS2300. We may consider making one for the 112.

It can't have the same bolt pattern because a 112mm circle intersects the bolts on the standard LT throttle body bolt pattern.

Lets work on the “May Consider”

Oh, i see now what you are referring to. Thing is if i use an adapter for the 112 my i take tube will touch the fan. (5”) currently running 103 katech throttle body so i thought bolt pattern is similar.

Can you cut the end of the intake off close to the TB to create the needed clearance?
A slimmer fan is also an option. Im running a SPAL without a shroud and it freed up a good amount of space up front. (plus it moves way more air than the OEM unit.)

That being said I would rather have a fitted snout vs. an adapter that needs to be cut to work.

Did you ever make this? I have NW 103 with 2.9 Whipple and run 20+ psi boost. Would love an option for your 112 to be bolt on!

Thanks :D

Andy,
There is not a direct bolt on option for our 112mm throttle body and a 2.9L Whipple.

SDPC makes an adaptor that will work though.
