Wiper issues

I have a 2008 Base vette with 36,000 miles on it. When getting caught in the rain i turned on the wipers, they worked fine for about 5-10 minutes and then all of a sudden they stop in the middle of the windshield. The wiper switch will spray washer fluid but will not wipe, no modes on the wiper switch work besides high, and when in high if you turn the switch to off they stop. Its getting annoying when getting caught in a light mist to play the game of trying to get them to stop in the rest position. Any help would be great. Been trying to search the internet for a solution but no luck.

Thanks
Ryan

Pretty hard to test when you have a failure road side in the rain.
Guessing once cooled the wipers return to the rest position?
Based on other who have posted with wiper issues....its the wiper stalk/ switch on the steering column.
Good luck.

I don't think anything is getting hot. It happens even when the car is sitting. I have replaced the wiper stalk already with no luck :(

I have the same issue...

The C6 wiper control is kind of peculiar. The high position activates both wiper relays directly. The other positions send a signal to the BCM, which in turn activates only one of the wiper relays, causing the wiper motor to run at low speed.

If high speed works, it sounds like both relays are working. My first guess would be an intermittent connection between the stalk and the BCM. You might try unplugging the blue connectors at the BCM (under the passenger footwell carpet) and hosing them down with contact cleaner.

A better approach would be to plug in a Tech 2 (if you have one) to test whether the BCM can see the stalk, and to test if you can command the wipers to run.

The wipers do not return to the rest position.

I have the same problem on my Chevy dually. It turned out to be the wiper motor.

That was my first idea when it happened, got a new wiper motor from Chevy installed it and no luck. The only thing I haven't replaced in the system is relays but stated earlier if the high works both relays shi be okay. Does anyone know where it grounds out to that I could check

I am having the problem that the wipers stop, and then go again. Sometimes they don't work at all. Most of the time, they work fine, all positions.
I will start new thread, just showing sympathy for your woes.
