800whp capable blower
Looking for the best blower to hit 800whp wanting to race have a forged 427 11:1 400cfm heads and a 18* big boost cam ported stock ls7 intake stock z06 exhaust catless (good cheap upgrade compared to ls2 manifolds) in my 07 z51 3lt can the 1500SL make it do I need a 2200hd? Or should I go with a v3 ti or v2 Andy says the v2 spins at 56k and can make more power.
I see people making 825 on rpm video with a 6 rib v3 TI |
1500SL is a Ti. Same exact wheel. It will do 800 with ease properly setup.
Will it peak early like 6k rpms was hoping to have a good power band for racing 1/4 and roll racing closed highway stuff so you think 1500 would do it best setup with what I got to beat these demons and gt500s etc
i would like to try to avoid a 8 rib system since they’re not needed if the guy on the rpm video got his 6 rib to not slip v3TI anyone know of any vendors who sell it cheaper than ecs or a and a so? |
I’m making 874whp/795rwtq on my forged LS7 with a Ti trim. 8 rib and/or secondary drive will be more efficient and reliable, if you plan to max out a Ti/1500.

Which 8 rib don’t i need a special overdrive I heard my IW 10% over won’t work
Won't peak early because of blower. Maybe because of your cam or setup, but blower can pull to 7k+ no issues making 800+.
The only setup that needs a special overdrive pulley is the A&A direct drives as it is modified to work with their DD and you have to run theirs. If you just want a basic 8 rib then get an 8 rib damper and 8 rib kit to match the kit you have. ECS kit comes with 8 rib stuff already, just need to add a few little things like alternator/PS pump pullies. A&A would have an 8 rib upgrade kit with different spaces/pullies/etc. |

If all you want is 800 put the money towards meth, headers, cam, tires, etc. No reason to go bigger blower IMO unless you want more later.
Do have tires meth and a cam stock z exhaust gutted to hopefully loose some restriction
Ti trim or D1

Yes, stock sleeves.
When is it needed to go to a 8 rib? What’s the smallest pulley people run with a 10% lower? Trying max out the six rib then down the road sell the bracket and 1500 and grab me a 10 rib DD with a 2200R
Do you prefer meth or e85? I’m not worried about availability just more reliability what would be better/less of a headache meth or e85 minus getting the e85 part not worried about that.
I started getting slip with a stock size LS7 balancer and 3.4 blower pulley with the six rib. I could probably have tried to adjust the tension regularly, but instead moved to the secondary drive and picked up boost and never have to adjust the belt tension.
Meth will be a must for your power goals and e85 would be a nice to have. Meth requires changing out the pump every 1-2 years, which isn't hard. e85 requires an upgraded fuel system, but no maintenance. I run both. |
Would a external pump work fine with the z06 internal for 700-800whp on e? I heard of stock pumps failing so I’m going for 1500 ecs 6 rib with a 3.5-4 inch upp 10% lower
I’m running an external with stock Z06 pump on e85.
After reading a thread on where would you stop I decided on 700whp for now until I grab a zr1 drivetrain down the road and then bump it to 800-900whp so as in the best blower to hit the hardest would be a 1500 I assume correct? I want a good power band should I leave restrictor on and just pulley it?
A 1500/Ti/D1SC will all be good for about 800-850whp. If you're looking for more than that, I would look at the D1X or the YSI/2200R. I would not use the restrictor and just pulley it for your power goals. Traction will be an issue either way.
Was looking at their straight cut gears what do you guys think only thing is it’s 250$ to make it louder. Also anyone know what pulley combo I’m needing to hit the 725whp area with a engine that puts 530whp already 427 11:1
