1988 c4 ses code 32
My "service engine soon" light comes on when I first start it up. After I run it for a while (up to operating temp.) and turn it off, when I restart while its still warm, the SES light doesn't come on. The car has 62k miles on it and is in very nice condition. Any help will be appreciated.

I have the exact same problem on my 85. I've been told it's the temperature sensor. Only thing is, all the EGR parts are new. Including the temperature sensor. It's a real P.I.T.A. to remove the plenum just to check or replace the EGR temp sensor again. Those original sensors have been obsolete for awhile and now they're made in China I think. I've just decided to live with that Check Engine Light indicating EGR failure. The car runs fine..

My '88 FSM on pp. 6E3-A-40 has a stepwise diagnostic scheme to track down the source of the EGR problem.
