I have a C4 ZR-1 DOHC LT5 engine for sale. I purchased it some 18-20 years ago and was going to put it into a `68 Camaro project which did not eventuate. It has been keep dry inside a factory all the time covered in a blanket and manually turned over periodically. Comes with the ECU and the complete wiring harness. This is a low millage engine from a wreck. Anyone interested can ask any questions and answer through this thread. The engine is in Australia but freight is simple.

The Australian dollar has plummeted. Sale price would now be $7500.00 USD.

Price????

Very early 90 engine as well. Still has the test leads from the sensors poking out.

Quadcam 06-12-2019 06:38 AM

$10,5k

Glws.

$10,500 seems kinda steep when you can buy a clean, complete ZR-1 for $18,000. JMHO.

I understand that and am aware of the complete vehicle pricing. However, I paid more than that when I purchased the engine because it was a low mileage engine from a test Corvette. I am not interested in stitching someone up, more to offer someone an opportunity to purchase an engine not so readily available for less than what I paid. Maybe I paid too much?? I don`t HAVE to sell it and will still do my original Camaro deal if it doesn`t sell. I respect your opinion.

Oh I still think it's very cool. The LT5 is the best looking engine ever. I think this would be awesome in a T-bucket or something like that where it was in plain sight all the time. I can see the appeal.

Very tough sell at that price in the current market. That's coming from someone who has 40-50k in ZR-1 parts including several complete engines. Last year I bought a complete low mileage (29k) parts car for 6500 shipped across the US. Good luck with the sale.

Yeah not looking to knock u down or anything. But current value of that is 4-5k max. I have sold three complete motors in the last 4 years and that's just what they go for. Obviously if you bought it 20 years ago it was 10k or more. As they were not common and had more value as a special engine. Just like a hellcat dropout now its 15k in 20 years not gonna be worth that etc.

Just put it in the car and make it run. Way cooler to just do that. Cheers.

Still available, I’m in oz and keen contact me zero418327427 (the zero is an 0, just did it like that so I don’t get picked up by bots) cheers Dan

nothing wrong with starting high and costs a hell of a lot more than that to rebuild one. New ECM alone is worth some coin

Where did you get this? I had one of these engines. It was a GM test engine. I had one like this and 13 new crate engines back in 2002. I’m out of CA.

OP hasn't been active on the Forum for over two years. Sending him a PM may be the best way to get an answer.
